“Your longing for me is my message to you, All your attempts to reach me, are in reality my attempts to reach you.”   - Rumi

"Entheogen" is derived from the Greek en meaning "in" or "within;" theo meaning "god" or "divine;" and gen meaning "create" or "generates."  This translates into "generating or creating the divine within."

Entheogen are psychoactive substances, plant or synthetically derived.  They are also referred to as psychedelics.  They are used specifically to induce non-ordinary state of consciousness (NOSC) or alterations in perception, including changes in the experience of time and space, as well as alterations in mood, thoughts, and other mental states for the purposes of becoming aware. In other words, entheogen are conscious shifting medicine.  The experience facilitates meaning making and the integration of life experiences including our very existence.  They also unearth unconscious material to then be integrated into the whole self.  This is done by the coupling of entheogen and integration or psychedelic assisted psychotherapy.

Currently in the United States, Ketamine is the only federally legal entheogen.  Misconceptions associated around psychedelic medicines from its misclassification of having no medical benefit has been proven to be untrue through numerous evidenced-based research world-wide for decades.  The five medical organizations leading the psychedelic research revolution include: 1. The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), 2. the Johns Hopkins Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness, 3. the Imperial College in London, 4. The Hakomi Institute, and 5. Psychedelic Research in Israel.

By dropping down from the thinking  state or mind-sense to a feeling state or felt-sense, each of us allows for our inner healing intelligence to take over.  Entheogens can facilitate this.  This intrinsic capacity for the Self to heal and grow is within all of us, every moment, not just in the physical sense, but in every sense.
